Here's few tips to control your dslr cam from your andriod phone so go ahead :D
Get equipped before you start.

First make sure that your camera and your phone are compatible with DSLR Controller.
To know this go to the developer’s Web site and view the compatibility chart.
The app works great on phone but some cameras only read partially.
Most canon cameras are compatible with DSLR Controller,
The dslr dashboard app works with Nikon.

Install the controller on your Android device
Next connect a USB OTG adapter to your phone turning your phone into a USB host
This lets you connect a range of devices to the phone.
Next join a compatible USB cable from the camera to the USB OTG adapter.
Now switch on the camera.
DSLR Controller will launch as soon as the android recognizes it.

The first basic is to know how to use your camera
The app is augmented with all the controls you’re used to.
Plus a few tools are added that were not available on your camera.
To shoot the picture, just tap on focus
Then hit the shutter button on the right.
To reset focus, long-press on a different spot in the frame.
Then, use the various tools along the edge of the screen.
Gain access to all your camera’s primary shooting functions around the live view.

The left sidebar shows all of your quick controls.
Focus mode
There is an automatic element to the manual focus. The focus is fine-tuned with arrows in various increment ranges. To adjust focus

i. First, select the increment at the top,

ii. Use the arrows at the bottom to adjust the focus.

iii. fine-tune

You can view all the photos stored on your camera’s memory card with the play button. There options of delete and save are also given for quick editing and sharing.

DSLR Controller also works in Manual, Aperture Priority, or Shutter speed Priority app and movie mode.

the functions like shutter speed, aperture, exposure, and ISO are given here. To the indicators for shots remaining and battery are given at right corner.

Image review
you can store the photos on your Android device in addition to your camera With DSLR Controller. You can save all your shots on your Android device in this way.
HDR and Auto-exposure bracketing
DSLR Controller automatically adjusts exposure for HDR shots. It hastens the shooting process.
Focus bracketing
it shoots a sequence of photos at various focal lengths that can later be combined to create one photo with a wider focus range.
Time-lapse
with this awesome app you can do interval photography without needing an intervalometer. With this app, you can do just that.

Adjust the elements down the middle of the screen e.g. interval, shots, and autofocus
Then press “go”
Wi-Fi Pass-through
Another Android device can be attached to the wired device using dslr controller, turning your second device into the primary controller.

Connect both devices to the same Wi-Fi network.
Go to settings
Press Launch to get DSLR Controller on the second device.
